WHERE DO I GET A CLAIM NUMBER?

Claim numbers are issued by your insurance company upon reporting your accident. Bring the claim number with you when you come in to begin the repair process and we'll take care of the rest.

IS CROWN PAINT & BODY OPEN ON SATURDAYS?

We are not open on Saturdays, but we are open from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday through Friday.

WILL THE PARTS BE ORDERED BEFORE I DROP MY CAR OFF FOR REPAIR?

You bet. We usually order the parts at the time we write the estimate and schedule your car for drop-off unless your car is unsafe to drive. If your car can't be driven, we'll help you arrange for a rental vehicle as soon as possible to facilitate a quicker turnaround time.

IF MY CAR'S FRAME IS DAMAGED, IS IT A COMPLETE LOSS?

No. A car is a total loss only when the price of repairs exceeds the insurance company's determined value of your car. Most cars these days are built using unibody (frame and body as one) construction. Our highly-skilled technicians and state-of the-art computer measuring system will get your car back to its original factory specifications. If we find that the frame section is bent beyond repair, that section can simply be replaced.

CAN I GET OTHER SERVICE WORK DONE ON MY VEHICLE WHILE IT IS IN THE BODY SHOP?

Yes. Make sure to let your advisor know what other work you'd like done so that they can make the necessary arrangements. We're pleased to offer complete service work, including brake repair/replacement, and alignment service.

HOW LONG WILL THE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE TAKE?

Your service advisor will give you an estimate of the time it will take to complete your car's repairs. Usually, cars are scheduled for delivery on Mondays and Fridays. Be sure to check with your advisor for the specifics on your car.

CAN I GET A RIDE HOME WHEN I DROP OFF MY CAR?

Yes, we're happy to provide pickup and delivery service. We work to make sure your visit will be a positive experience and will work diligently to make sure that happens.

HOW CAN I GET A RENTAL CAR?

If you need a rental car, we are happy to help you make the necessary arrangements. Insurance companies will only pay for a rental if you have that option on your policy or if you're the claimant. Check your policy or call your insurance company to find out if you have rental coverage and what your specific limitations are.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN MY CAR IS DONE?

You'll be notified when your car is ready to be picked up. Feel free to call or email your advisor during the repair process if you have any questions/concerns.

IS THERE A WARRANTY ON THE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE?

DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE?

The amount of deductible that you'll be responsible for is determined by your insurance policy. If you carry broad collision and weren't at fault, your insurance company will likely waive your deductible. Insurance companies determine fault from your account of the accident when you make the claim and by reviewing the accident report filed with the police department. Call your agent and they'll let you know whether your insurance company has waived your deductible or if you are  responsible to pay that when you pick up your car.

WHO DO I PAY MY DEDUCTIBLE TO?

It's your responsibility to pay us when you pick up your car. If you aren't sure about your deductible, just give your insurance agent a call.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DOES CROWN PAINT & BODY ACCEPT?

The easiest and most convenient way to pay for your repairs is with a major credit card or cash. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

WHAT ARE BETTERMENT CHARGES?

Parts that wear out and need replacement with time and use (i.e., tires, batteries, and suspension parts) are commonly subject to betterment charges when replaced during the repair process. These charges are determined by your insurance company and are pro-rated based on actual miles on your car.

CAN I WASH MY CAR?

  • Wash the car by hand with cold water and a very mild car cleaning solution using a soft cloth or sponge.
  • Always use clean, fresh water.
  • Wash your car in the shade

DON'T

  • Do not use a commercial car wash. Stiff brushes or sponges could harm the finish and damage the surface.
  • Do not "dry wipe" your car. Dry wiping may scratch the finish.
  • Do not drive on gravel roads. Chipping the finish is easily done in the first 30 days.
  • Avoid parking under trees and utility lines as these are likely to attract birds. Bird droppings are acidic and will damage a freshly painted surface. Also, tree sap can disturb or spot a freshly painted surface.
  • Do not spill gasoline, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, or windshield solvent on the new finish.
  • Do not scrape ice or snow from the newly painted surface.
